Anbox Cloud 1.30.0 is released
We have released Anbox Cloud 1.30.0 today. This is one of the most significant Anbox Cloud releases in years. The headline feature is support for virtualized Android. Anbox Cloud can now run Android inside a Cuttlefish virtual machine within the LXD instance, while the existing containerized Android execution environment remains unchanged. This gives users two complementary ways to run Android:
- containerized Android for fast, efficient, high-density application workloads
- virtualized Android for complete Android system images, Cuttlefish workflows, AAOS, custom images, and system-level validation
The release also introduces new resolute:-cf: images for Android 16, available for both AOSP and AAOS on amd64 and arm64. We also improved the streaming experience. The stream page actions sidebar in the dashboard has been redesigned and now includes controls for resizing, rotation, volume, power, Home, Back, keyboard capture, screenshots, and screen recording. Instance copy is now available in the dashboard, making it easier to create a new instance from an existing one while inheriting disk state and metadata configuration. And more features to check out in our full release notes.
